DAY SEVENTEEN: CLEARING THE PIPELINE

As I have previously written, fasting is a great way to detoxify our system and give our bodies a break. It also serves to cleanse our spiritual system! We are in a sense, clearing the clutter and debris from the spiritual pipes that connect us with God.

 

There is so much in our fallen world that we come in contact with that contaminates our soul and spirit. Many years ago God gave me a picture of our spiritual system. It looks a lot like the pipelines in our plumbing. When those pipes have sludge, debris and tree roots, then the water is hindered from flowing through the plumbing system in the power that was intended. Water pressure is diminished and we have problems. Likewise, our spiritual pipelines need to be cleared of the sludge and debris.  When those pipes are clear, the power and presence of God not only fills us up, but also flows through our life to those around us.

 

Father we present our lives to you- covered in the filth of the world around us. Holy Spirit, clear out the sludge that weakens your flow into our lives. Jesus, as we touch those around us, we want to release your life within us with the same intentionality that you went to the cross with.  Amen!
