MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Look at the Fruit We Harvested TOGETHER…

Mission Accomplished!

Mission Accomplished!

What an amazing work God accomplished inside these prisons in just 2 weeks! Each event was packed to capacity! We told the men, “People back home have donated their hard earned money just so you would know God has not forgotten you behind these walls!” Because of you, there were many who surrendered completely to Christ; some for the very first time, and many others who surrendered un-yielded areas in their life.

The Ministry

Music evangelism– testimonies– preaching the WORD!

A former Satanist got saved after hearing Mark preach from Romans. He said, “Thank you for making that clearer than I’ve ever heard it put. I’ve been in prison for 39 years. I’ve doubted God all my life. I was a hardcore biker and a Satanist. I actually helped Anton LaVey start the Church of Satan in Orlando, Florida. I never really understood what Jesus did, but tonight it hit me while you were talking.

Biblical teaching to equip the indigenous church behind the walls:

We saw HUGE breakthrough in the area of shame and forgiveness. Debbie had just finished teaching on the importance of forgiving oneself, and not allowing the shame of our failures to disqualify us from our God given assignment. Robin taught on identity, then shared a traumatic event that happened years ago at the hands of a stranger. She said, “Some of you need to hear the words…” And so, side by side, we told these men,  “I FORGIVE YOU…on behalf of every woman you’ve hurt”

Activating and empowering:

Debbie had lost her voice and asked the men to stretch their hands forth in faith and pray for healing in her vocal chords. The men got to see immediate fruit from that prayer! God uses EVERYTHING to show HIMSELF glorious!

One on One ministry time:

We prayed for pictures of their children. We ministered healing to tPraying For Childrenheir brokenness; touching and loving the untouchables, breaking off chains of condemnation and setting the captive free!

We were thrilled to work with Chaplain Spanos again at one of the prisons! It was a unique opportunity to follow up on the fruit from our time there last October. We discovered some of those we had equipped last year began to “father” those new in the faith! On the last day we held baptisms once again. These proud “fathers” stood on the front row, as their “students” went into the water dead to sin, only to come up alive in Christ!

The response was over-the-top surrendered lives! †

PicMonkey Collage RESPONSE

A good majority of these prisoners have received life sentences. But I have to tell you, the church within the prison system in the state of Florida is rising up from the ashes!

The challenge in prison ministry isn’t getting prisoners saved, God has gotten their attention! Many wind up in prison because they can’t outrun God. I believe the challenge lies in helping them understand their crime hasn’t disqualified them from their purpose or assignment in this earth. That’s just geography! God hasn’t changed His mind about them or His plan for them. This kind of impact takes forgiving themselves, and coming into alignment with their God-given identity. It means taking their life off “hold,” and embracing the call upon their life. If those assignments were insignificant, why then would the devil try so hard to take them out? It takes breaking off the chains of shame and condemnation so they can be free and empowered to influence the mission field all around them, every single day!

What better way to change prison statistics? The ones who parole out, DON’T COME BACK! And those who stay, get to change the whole atmosphere inside the walls of their mission ground. I like those statistics!

It is with great love and appreciation for your role in our ministry that I say… THANK YOU FOR SENDING US…THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US and THANK YOU FOR PRAYING!

Together, we are making a difference!

Healing Wings Church Established in Uganda

Many years ago I became part of a missionary couple’s support team through prayer and a monthly financial commitment. Little did I realize that through that commitment a fire would ignite in my heart for the mission field. I took my role as “partner” seriously. If I couldn’t go myself, then I figured I could “go” through others, and share in the fruit of the harvest!

We recently did an interview with one of the children we sponsored while in Uganda through Christ Aid International in 2001. One can’t possibly imagine the impact that’s made by sowing into a life. Neither can you know how far that impact will ripple across a village, a community or even a whole country. Abel has grown up from a little boy to become a Pastor in his village. It’s worth sharing with you, if only for the one life it touches.

HW: When did you commit your heart to Jesus Christ?

Abel: I came to know Jesus Christ after the tragedies that befell my family which included the death of four of my brothers. My parents and I survived the attacks, and I thank God for protecting us. My parents committed their lives to God and taught me how to pray and love God. It was in 1999 in a church service I was reflecting upon my life and realized I needed to personally commit my life to Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior. Since then I have never regretted my decision.

HW: How has Christ worked in your life?

Abel: I have seen God moving, working, and living in my life by the way He has changed the impossibilities into His possibilities. For example: God has given me a new family that consists of my mom and dad and 2 brothers and a sister. Praise be to God! God has made it possible for me to go to school since nursery and now University level thru provision provided by Healing Wings Ministries in Colorado. He speaks to me in dreams, revelations, and visions. God has given me the power to pray for people for healing and deliverance, and from this, testimonies have come forth and God has been glorified!

HW: How did God call you to be a Pastor?

Abel: The Holy Spirit spoke to me to go into the wilderness or prayer mountain to pray and fast for 7 days. While I did this I heard a voice from heaven and an Angel appeared to me with a branch of a plant and said, “If a branch fails to produce fruits it will be cut off, go and start producing fruits of good news!” At that time I was 20 years old…

HW: What is the vision God has given you for your community Fort Portal and country, Uganda?

Abel: God has shown me that what He promises He always fulfills, and that in Him everything is possible. I have witnessed this through those that had persecuted me at one time are now coming for deliverance. My ministry started under a tree with just a few people, but now many are coming and we have a temporary roofed church we meet in. I see God’s power working as He has given me favor with the government that has allowed me to minister and grow the church. This has been very encouraging for me and I look to buy land for the church in Fort Portal Municipality, build a church that seats 10,000 people and more, increase our help with orphans, the needy, and the disabled spiritually and physically. I want to develop programs with an emphasis toward our youth, and also to develop leaders to continue to expand God’s Kingdom in Uganda and Africa at large.

HW: Do you remember when Healing Wings came and met you for the first time?  What impact has this had in your life?

Abel: I will always remember that day because it was my first time to meet and speak to a white person. God has used you to inspire me as a spiritual leader, and to increase a desire to know Him more, when you gave me a Bible and verses to read. Also the tapes and CD’s have helped me to learn to sing and worship the Lord in English. The academic achievements I have attained have been helped by your support. The goat, cow, and physical cash you sent helped me and my family so much. And how can I forget the person who gave me my first pair of shoes. Indeed you have impacted my life!

 Hope Fest 2001- Uganda

There is so much I could say, so I will tell you all just how deeply and sincerely I appreciate you, my family in Christ, Debbie, Randy, and Robin. I would like to encourage you with a word, “always keep focused on the LORD JESUS CHRIST the son of GOD, for He is our only Lord and Savior!” Also I wanted to let you know that I named the church here in Fort Portal, “Healing Wings” as a token of thanks to what my Healing Wings Family in USA has done for me and continue to do. It’s my prayer that you come and visit Healing Wings Fort Portal Church and you fellowship with us.

HW: How can we pray for you and your church?

Abel: Since the mission has started it has provided many challenges, so pray for our protection and God’s direction in every aspect of my life and church. Pray for encouragement and His provision for all that He is laying before us.

We hope to return to Uganda in the future and participate in the work of Healing Wings Church. We want to minister along side Pastor Abel in doing our part to reach the hungry, lost and broken in Africa. But for now, we have many scheduled outreach events here in the U.S. for 2014.

We need your help to make the biggest impact!

We Now Interrupt Your Program for a Florida Missions Update!

We are finally home and thrilled to have been used so mightily to advance God’s kingdom. There were so many men and women who responded to the Gospel message that we stopped counting!  Really, it’s not about the numbers anyway. Instead, it’s about each heart being touched by a loving God in such a radical way that it forever changes that life! Regardless if that happens for one person or many, it is worth the price of admission.

We were able to do multiple events in each prison, enabling us to build a level of trust and confidence with the inmates.

God knit together a phenomenal ministry team that traveled from all parts of the country:  John Swanger, our “resident” ex-offender, made the road trip with us from Denver; Rob Horton flew in from Colorado; Kenny Selweighardt flew down from New Jersey; both Marco DeSciscio and Scott Hazen were from the Florida area. These team players were able to light up the sky with their passion and their musical talent.

Here are some of the prison highlights from partnering with Solid Rock Ministry:

♦ At the men’s facility, we spent 2 days bringing men back into their destinies through music, teaching and prayer. Randy hosted the prayer room for one-on-one time with these men. Each event was packed to capacity. What an amazing display of God’s tenderness as grown men, who survive in prison by wearing a tough facade, broke down in tears when we prayed for them and their families. Many responded to the invitations given; not only salvation, but as Debbie taught on the importance of renewing the mind and taking thoughts captive, there was an overwhelming response!

♦ We spent another 2 days at the women’s facility. There was such a move of God that we’re still spinning! In the spirit, doors that had been locked down for years burst wide open. It was a time ordained by God for life changing experiences and the results were massive! In fact one of the guards came up to us exclaiming, “I’ve never seen anything like it…”

♦  John told the women they could fire the guard who has been holding their hearts and get a new boss, “Jesus,” who would protect it from then on.  Many did just that and entered a new walk in the Lord!

Debbie taught on God’s design for wholeness and the barriers (brokenness–shame/fear–unforgiveness) that block freedom and transformation.

♦ Robin illustrated how shame and fear keep you bound by sharing her story of being brutally raped at knife point. In this kind of vulnerability, many women asked for their hearts to be healed as well!

♦ Randy shared on the importance of forgiveness, then stood in the gap for all the men who had ever hurt them, then got down on his knees asking for forgiveness….oh my! Chains began breaking off these incarcerated women. All across the chapel this breakthrough anointing was busting people out of captivity!

Later that evening, we were privileged to hear many stories of how God radically touched these women.

→ Her daughter’s boyfriend had just murdered her 2 year old grandbaby 2 days ago, and the emotional pain that tormented her was horrendous. The Lord touched her heart with His comfort and healing.

→ Another was able to forgive a grandfather who had molested her for so many years.

→ She had been married to a man who abused her and wound up sentenced to prison. She was able to finally forgive him after struggling with bitterness for 37 years.

→ Another was terrified to give all her life to Christ because she had been so wounded it was hard to trust anyone. Jesus radically set her free!

→ Still another woman’s heart received such a healing touch from the Lord that it physically burned for hours.

→ One woman testified to being healed of 28 tumors when Tony had prayed for her last year!

→ Healing, comfort, forgiveness, and liberty all branded the lives of these precious women, ushering in transformation.

→ It also created a rippling effect as these women carried the message to others who hadn’t been able to come, and they too were set free and present to testify about it!

Thank you to those who participated in this extraordinary mission’s trip! Your prayers plowed the field and many, many lives have been transformed because of your loving support. Together, we have taken back ground from the enemy and tasted the fruit of victory!

Co-Laboring Together for HIS Sake,

Debbie, Randy and Robin

Healing Wings Ministries

Year of Impact and Partnership

Dear Healing Wings Family,

Looking back over 2011, two things really stood out; unity and partnership.  These 2 things have always been foundational concepts in the 18 years we have served the Lord through Healing Wings Ministries. We’ve prayed for it to happen; we’ve even tried to force it to happen with minimal success. 2011 was marked by greater partnerships and a flow of unity in each of the ministry events we were involved in. I have to tell you it was refreshing to just do our part and watch the beautiful display of others doing theirs.Image

Not only have we been tools in the hands of like-hearted ministries, but we’ve been able to take many new volunteers into the prison system by equipping, empowering & then releasing them to do the very things God has wired them to do! We can’t wait to see how God will continue to weave His Body together in this brand new year! I am most excited for my husband Randy to bring his giftings to Healing Wings as he transitions into full time ministry in order to spearhead our prison events.

We believe 2012 will be a pivotal year and eagerly await for His promises to be fulfilled! All of our seeking Him, waiting and trusting Him; all of our training and equipping will be activated in this pivotal year. We feel a sense of urgency to prepare the Bride for her wedding day through our emphasis on God’s design for “wholeness”. She needs healing, and needs to be cleaned up, restored, empowered and sent forth for such a time as this! The harvest is coming and we must be ready. It is time for us all to wake up from our sleepy lifestyles and reset our priorities. We must be grounded in Christ, anchored in His Word, and know exactly who we are in HIM and who HE is in us.

In closing, I want to thank each of you for your faithfulness to stand with us as we take this message to a hurting and disillusioned world. We invite you once again to partner with us this year through your donations and prayers. One outreach in particular we are currently raising support for is our in-country mission trip to Florida. I will post this information next!

May God richly bless you as you let your light shine!

Debbie Milligan, Randy Johnson and Robin D’Haillecourt

Break the Grip of the Rip

One of the enemy’s strategies in these last days is to “wear out” the saints of the God. Daniel 7:25 says, “he shall wear out the saints of the Most High and intend to change times and law.” Isn’t it interesting the Greek word for devil is “diabolos,” and its meaning literally describes the repetitive action of hitting something again and again until finally it’s so worn down that it can be thoroughly penetrated. Does that sound familiar? Doesn’t that describe the tragedies, crises and trauma that threaten to knock us off course? We have all been there. And even though many have vowed to never do another year like 2010, I still see people beaten down, worn out and desperately trying to recover.

If you’re caught in a riptide, the best advice is to swim with the current, parallel to shore. Do not under any circumstance panic and attempt to swim to shore, because you’ll ultimately wear yourself out and drown.  The enemy is producing “riptide” like circumstances in our daily lives, and we are trying to deal with them in our own strength. We are wearing down and burning out as we struggle for survival against the riptides of life. I, for one, am guilty of trying to get through the constant challenges of life in my own strength. Last year left me burnt out and out of alignment with the Lord.  As I have progressed through this year, I still find myself at times wondering why my life “feels” so out of control. That’s how a riptide will make you feel—powerless, with no control; as hard as we fight to live, the circumstances seem to be overpowering us and driving us further into dangerous waters!

So what’s the answer?  How do we break the grip of the rip? We release the struggle to survive, and swim in the flow of the Spirit. Psalm 91 tells us there is a secret place in the presence of Almighty God. It is a place of refuge, and there tucked under the shadow of His wings, all the forces of hell; all its terror and destruction will not come near you. In fact a great way to turn the battle back upon the enemy’s head is by stepping back into this fortress of God’s presence. Because you’re hidden there, you will wear out the forces of hell as they try to access you! So the answer my friends, is to learn to abide in this place and stay where God puts you! In that place of rest and refuge, we place our out-of-control life into the steady, keeping power of the Faithful One, who is always in control. As we learn to abide better and flow in the currents of our God, we won’t exhaust our strength or resources. Instead, we come away energized and rested.

The promise is this: A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. (Psalm 91:7-8)

“Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.” (Daniel 7:27)

Amen and amen!

One Accord

Whether unity is used for good or evil there is power in people united. In Genesis 11 the whole earth had one language. United as “one,” they decided to build a city and a tower so high it would touch heaven. They wanted to make a name for themselves, so they wouldn’t be scattered all over the face of the earth. God sees what they’re doing and says, “There is nothing they plan to do that will be withheld from them.” God knew the power of unity, so he broke up their “oneness” by confusing their language and scattering them everywhere.

Unity is powerful. This is why Jesus prayed in John 17 for even as the Father and the Son are one. If the disciples were going to be successful in preaching the Gospel and making disciples of all the nations, they would need to operate as one. Throughout the book of Acts the first century church is described as those of “one accord”. This Greek word has the imagery of a musical composition; the notes are all different, but each note in harmony with the other makes a beautiful song. It means one purpose, one passion and one mind in harmonious agreement towards that passion and purpose. It is the way battles are won. I read recently that a tiger will defeat a lion in battle. However, five lions will defeat five tigers, because lions fight together and tigers do not. So, together those five lions will kill the tigers one at a time.

Unity isn’t blending together in such a way that we all look the same; it isn’t a melting pot. It is each functioning together to make up the greater whole. Sound familiar? It’s the description of the Body of Christ. Eph. 4: 15-16 says that with Christ as the Head, the body is joined and knit together. How? By each one contributing their part! If there’s any of us withholding our part then something’s missing from the greater whole.

Time is growing closer than ever to Christ’s return. If we are to be His fullness in the earth (Eph. 1:23), the only way it will happen is in one accord. The pouring out of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and what He activated could only be sustained through the unity of Believers. It’s no different today. Those things God wants to release in these last days cannot be sustained by any single church, ministry or individual. We’d better learn how to be knit together for His sake, because we still have yet to see the “greater things than Jesus did” and the fullness of Joel 2:28-32 come to pass.

As a ministry, more than ever, we look for strategic ways to network with others. We don’t have the resources, strength or energy to accomplish the fullness of God’s intentions. (Trust me, in our passion, we have tried and burned out.) Together, however, we have everything it takes to make the greatest impact and to carry out God’s marching orders.

Texas or Bust

We finished strong today! I know you have been waiting to hear the wonderful things the Lord has done on this trip, so here I sit in a little corner at Starbucks trying to pull up all that is stored in my heart. To be able to have played a role in prisoners and the homeless opening their hearts to God and His outrageous love has been a tremendous privilege! We have ministered in many different settings, and though the settings have been diverse, the message of hope for healing and wholeness has been consistent. We have sowed seeds in the fertile soil of great need because of your prayers, support and your contributions.

Here are a couple of highlights:
(*names have been changed)

  • Jewel had come to Haven For Hope to get protection from a family that abused her and to start a new life. The unbearable pain in her heart was etched deep in her countenance. We prayed for the healing hand of Jesus to reach into those deep places and begin His work of redemption and restoration.
  • Susan wept from the shame of abandoning her children to pay the price of crime. Crack had cost her everything, not only her family, but also her vocal chords. As I prayed for her, God began to loose that which held her throat in bondage. She began to cough and gag, spitting out what appeared to be “scales” that covered her vocal chords. As people starting running over to help, I leaned down and asked her, “Is this normal?”  She said, “No, God is healing me!” I quickly reassured the many other women waiting for prayer not to be afraid. 🙂 The Chaplain told us with a grin, “I’m not letting you pray for me!”
  • Robin shared her testimony as well as her passion everywhere we went. Several women connected with the trauma of being kidnapped and violated at knife point.
  • In a few short days, many entered into the Kingdom by saying YES to Jesus!
  • Our Sozo Gathering at the Crews’ home was an amazing time of strengthening and refreshening for us as well as this house church.
  • We also experienced a weekly gathering at Smokey John’s BBQ in Dallas that calls themselves “God’s hospital.” Gathered in this place are people all ages, from different ethnic backgrounds that bring the sick and the wounded for prayer.

This has been the most unstructured trip we’ve ever done. Robin and I left home last week knowing that God would put the right people in our path with the right invitations to accept.  The new relationships we have established are enabling us to lengthen the cords and expand the tent pegs of Healing Wings. God has directed each step and provided for us in the journey. We have felt the faithful praying and have moved in strength and confidence.  This is only a beginning; there are many prisons here in Texas that were not able to accommodate us at this time due to being short handed or in “lock-down”, but next year is full of rich possibilities!

As Thanksgiving approaches, I am especially thankful for you and all who have participated in advancing the Kingdom of God in Texas.  This my friends is the Body of Christ in action, working together as God’s torch bearers to bring hope and light!

Robin and I wish you a Thanksgiving filled with reflection, for we really do have much to be thankful for!

Mother’s Day Weekend Events in Sterling Colorado

This coming Saturday, 5 of us travel to  Sterling Correctional Facility to share the hope of the Gospel with those incarcerated.  Because this is Mother’s Day weekend, these men will be especially thinking about family. Whether it is their own mother or the mother of their children, hearts may be heavy. We will not only do a concert, but will have time to visit, pray and encourage those who come to this event. Please pray for our time there so we can have the greatest impact on their lives.

Sunday, Mother’s Day I will be ministering at Faith United Methodist Church at 9am.
